Helpful Hints for Choosing a Roofing Contractor
Before you sign a contract – Be sure to ask
- How long they have been in business?
- Are they a local company that will stand behind their work?
- Will they will be doing the work themselves, or will they be using sub-contractors?
- Are their roofers covered by Workman’s Compensation Insurance?
It’s required by law in MO, and it protects you, the homeowner, if an accident should occur on your property.
- Ask to see a current certificate.
If they carry it, they will have one available.
- Do they have the manpower and equipment to get the job done quickly and efficiently?
- Will you get a manufacturer’s warranty on the materials?
- Will you get a guarantee on their labor?
- How long is the warranty, and what does it cover?
- Do they have references or a portfolio so you can see examples of their work?
- Will there be any additional charges over and above the estimate?
